Brignoles
About
At the heart of its medieval center lies the Palace of the Counts of Provence. Brignoles invites you to stroll through French history as you wander the narrow streets of its old town.
Brignoles was one of the fiefs of the Counts of Provence in the Middle Ages. Today it has slipped from its hill to extend its quarters onto the banks of the Caramy which flows in the plain.
From its prestigious past, the city has preserved the Count's Palace, now transformed into a museum, gates and posterns from the 13th and 14th centuries, private mansions, fountains, streets interspersed with staircases and vaulted passages.
You have to walk through these old streets and stroll around as you please to fully savor the traces of this long history.
