Commemorative stele for Chief Warrant Officer Hourcade
About
Stele inaugurated on September 14, 1941 by General Laure, Secretary General of the Head of State, who was passing through Cuers to preside over various patriotic ceremonies, with the presentation of a pennant to the Legion section.
It is located in the Pont de Pignans district, the place where Chief Warrant Officer André Hourcade's plane was shot down on June 15, 1940.
It is a marble stele on which a metal palm frond is fixed.
At the top of the stele, wings, symbolizing aviation, are sculpted and form an integral part of the cross.
