Alice Rende - Director / Contortionist
ALICE RENDE has a unique approach to contortion. Her first solo performance, Passages, has been touring since 2019. Her second creation, Fora, received the European label circusnext for
contemporary circus and the SACD Circus Process Prize. In 2022, she founded Compagnie AR in Aix-en-Provence to support her artistic projects. Alice also works as a director and teaches contortion. She also conducted research (Master's and PhD) in performing arts at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Her work explores themes such as the politics of the body and vertigo, drawing on narratives of circus experiences. Alice Rende is an associate artist of the
ZEF - National Stage of Marseille for the 2025-2028 seasons.

Compagnie Ar was founded in 2022 in Aix-en-Provence to support the artistic projects of Alice Rende. Her projects explore contortion techniques to tell stories.
