Following in Vasarely's footsteps

About

To mark the 120th anniversary of Victor Vasarely's birth, the twin cities of Pécs and Aix-en-Provence invited young artists to explore this shared heritage from the perspective of
homage, exploration, subversion.

The works presented are the result of these joint residencies following in Vasarely's footsteps. Szabina
Gollowitzer, a visual artist specializing in graphic art and a doctoral candidate at the University of Pécs in Hungary, completed a residency at the École Supérieure d'Art d'Aix-en-Provence and was able to discover
the architecture and collections of the Vasarely Foundation; Maud Nivet, a multidisciplinary artist,
A graduate of ESAAix, she was hosted by the Faculty of Arts in Pécs. In the exhibition, her work is presented alongside student pieces from the University of Pécs and ESAAix, which offer multidisciplinary reinterpretations of this heritage.

A program of the Faculty of Music and Visual Arts of the University of Pécs, ESAAix and the Vasarely Foundation.
