Château La Calisse

About

  • Pets allowed

The vines were replanted in a north-south orientation on balanced, calcareous soils that were subsoiled, drained, and leveled, extending across several sunny terraces. Located at an altitude of 380 meters in a basin that creates a microclimate, this terroir is highly favorable to vines, which were already cultivated by the Romans. Soil maintenance is carried out according to ancient practices: hoeing, plowing, and no herbicides or chemical fertilizers. The vines are trellised with three wires (1.80 meters high), and destemming is performed before veraison to maintain a maximum yield of 35 hectoliters per hectare. Treatments are traditional, primarily using copper and sulfur.
