About

The name of the estate "Château Les Apiès" comes from the nearby Apiès Forest. In this forest, and for generations, beekeepers have placed their hives in natural shelters, in Provençal "des apiès".
HISTORY :
The cellar is semi-underground, built of natural stone, with a typical vaulted ceiling.
Wine was made there until 1952, under the name "Clos d'Argens." The owners at the time decided to cease winemaking on site and delivered the harvest to the local cooperative winery. The winery, along with all the equipment (about thirty oak and concrete casks, the old presses, barrels, empty bottles, and all the winemaking equipment), was left behind.
Purchased in 2001, the winery was completely renovated and re-equipped with new and ultramodern equipment: the stainless steel tanks are temperature-controlled and the pneumatic press is microprocessor-controlled.
