Château Montaurone is located in the commune of Saint Cannat, 15 km from Aix-en-Provence.

Formerly in the 13th century, Montaurone was part of a Templar commandery. In the 19th century, this property was a "departmental model farm" with a rural school where general and scientific education oriented towards agriculture was provided.

Today, the estate is primarily dedicated to the production of wine and olive oil.
Located at an altitude of 200m and rooted on a limestone plateau, the vine must descend deep into the stony soil to find its nutrition.
The climate, dry and hot in summer and very cold in winter, favors the ripening of the grapes.

Quality has always been the priority for the Decamps family, the winegrowers, despite the size of their estate. Primarily classified as an Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) of Aix-en-Provence, the vineyard covers 91 hectares and is entirely classified as AOP Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence and IGP Méditerranée. The olive grove, meanwhile, is classified as AOP Huile de Provence and comprises over 2,200 trees on 8 hectares.
The estate chose to move towards organic farming in 2011, becoming fully organic in 2016. Production is largely focused on rosé wines, followed by red and white wine production.

The grape varieties used for the red and rosé wines are Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. For the white wines, the blend consists of Ugni Blanc, Vermentino, and Clairette. The wines are vinified using traditional methods in concrete and stainless steel tanks.

The olive grove, meanwhile, covers 8 hectares. Different varieties of trees are planted there, primarily the Aglendau and Salonenque varieties. The oil comes exclusively from olives harvested on the estate's land. They are then transported to the mill which...
The responsibility for crushing and processing lies with the winegrowers. After that, the bottling is carried out directly at the château by the winegrowers.
