Domaine Aspras

About

  • Pets allowed

Domaine des Aspras is located in Correns, in the Green Provence region, on the northern edge of the Côtes de Provence appellation. This geographical location results in longer exposure of the grapes to the autumn sun, and therefore a later harvest. The estate covers 32 hectares of vines with an average age of 20 years.

The story of Domaine des Aspras intersected with that of Gottfried and Lisa Latz more than 60 years ago, when they returned from Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Their winemaking journey was marked by passion and patience. They gradually came to understand the unique character of this land in the Argens Valley, nestled among white limestone hills.

Their son, Michaël, an agricultural engineer, is the second generation winemaker. He sees wine as a gift from the land and a know-how that is passed down from generation to generation and that must be done with respect for the environment, hence the choice of organic farming.

Wine is first and foremost the encounter between people and the land, which then becomes a moment of complicity, respect, and sharing. He has been passing on these values for over 25 years to the third generation: his three sons: Raphaël, Sébastien, and Alexandre.
