Producing 80% of rosé wines, the Domaine is also known for the quality of its Red and White wines in Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Côtes de Provence.
Its exceptional location, on the border between the sandy-limestone Massif des Maures and the clay-sandy coast of Saint-Raphaël, allows a dozen grape varieties to flourish in its silty-clay soil, including Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Tibouren, Mourvèdre, and Rolle. The sunniest plots are dedicated to red wines, while the more calcareous ones, which enhance the expression of minerality, are used for white wines.
Take the time, on your way to Saint-Tropez, to stop and taste our Côtes de Provence AOP wines in our magnificent, authentic winery. Founded in 1340, our estate perpetuates an ancestral winemaking tradition. As independent winemakers, we cultivate the art of the vine and wine with passion.
WE LOVE IT
Cuvée Bertaud Belieu Rosé Prestige 2021
Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Côtes de Provence, Gold Medal 2022 in Paris (General Agricultural Competition)
The wine, bright and clear, is salmon-colored with orange highlights. The nose is delicate, with aromas of peaches and white flowers, a far cry from classic English sweets! On the palate, the attack is crisp, leading to a balanced and lingering development and a refreshingly crisp finish.
A thirst-quenching Côtes de Provence that's rising to the top of the best rosés in the Gulf, to be enjoyed as soon as possible. An aperitif rosé that would also pair beautifully with a seafood risotto, for example...
Cuvée Bertaud Belieu Rosé Initiale 2021
Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Côtes de Provence, Gold Medal 2022 in Paris (Independent Winegrowers Competition)
The 2021 Rosé Initial, with its pastel salmon-pink hue, charmingly reveals itself on the nose with aromas of dried fruit, almond, candy, and hazelnut. Complex and balanced on the palate with touches of roundness, this rosé lingers beautifully with a lovely length, finishing with aromas of cherry pit.
Rosé Initial, with its assertive character, pairs beautifully with Mediterranean foods such as paella, ratatouille, or grilled fish. Its complexity and delightful vigor make it a natural complement to spicy dishes or Thai cuisine.
WINES
Cuvée Bertaud Belieu Héracléa 2021
Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Côtes de Provence
This wine boasts a very pale color with silvery-pink highlights. The bouquet is subtle, with aromas of small red fruits and white peach. The palate is harmonious, with exotic flavors and a lovely persistence of smoky and briny notes – a true gastronomic rosé!
Héracléa is a Grand Rosé that can be enjoyed like a white wine, for example right now with a fillet of red mullet in a casserole with a tapenade crust…
Cuvée Bertaud Belieu Blanc Prestige 2020
Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Côtes de Provence
The wine is clear, brilliant, and golden yellow with almost green highlights. The nose is distinguished by its generous fruitiness; aeration brings out notes of toasted hazelnuts. On the palate, the attack is crisp, the toasty character quickly disappears to give way to fruit (white peach), with a refreshing finish. Bertaud Belieu Prestige Blanc 2021 can be enjoyed now and over the next four years as an aperitif or paired with a creamy risotto, white meat in sauce, or Brie de Meaux.
Cuvée Bertaud Belieu Rouge Prestige 2017
Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Côtes de Provence
A beautiful purple robe with violet highlights. On the nose, it displays notes of dried aromatic herbs, pencil lead, and undergrowth. On the palate, it is a well-balanced red wine that plays between fluidity and concentration; the tannins are fine, leading to a finish that lingers with fruity notes.
Potential for development over at least five years. Enjoy it, perhaps with a roast duck in a herb bread crust…
Cuvée Bertaud Belieu Rouge Initiale 2018
Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Côtes de Provence
It boasts a deep red color with cherry highlights. The nose is dominated by red fruit, particularly raspberry, underscored by subtle spicy notes. On the palate, it's a balanced and refreshing wine, initially bursting with fruit; the slight astringency fades as you taste, culminating in a delightfully indulgent finish.
It's a smart "Côtes de Provence" that's accessible to all palates.
Bertaud Belieu Initial Rouge 2018 is a vintage wine to enjoy now and over the next two years. Ideal with grilled meats and herbs.
