Our wines:
We produce BANDOL wines and Vins de Pays in three colors: Red, Rosé and White.
In Bandol, the grape harvest must be done by hand, as harvesting machines are prohibited. But at the Domaine, the Vins de Pays are also harvested by hand.
In Bandol, Mourvèdre reigns supreme. This late-ripening grape, known elsewhere as Balzac, Catalan, Espar, or Mataro, has found its ideal terroir in Bandol. Here, on these protected lands, the unique geology and microclimate create an ecological niche where its strong personality flourishes. Having reached optimal ripeness, Mourvèdre, with its rich tannins, possesses an extraordinary aging potential and a distinctive, complex character.
Our Bandol Rouge wines contain 75 to 80% of Mourvèdre depending on the vintage, and our Rosé wines contain 35 to 45%.
A wide range of Vin de Pays wines are produced at Domaine Lou Capelan. You can find fruity wines with the Vin de Pays du Var or drier wines with the Vin de Pays du Mont Caume.
