The winemaking tradition of the Domaine dates back to the 16th century; it was renamed Rabiega during the 1960s under the leadership of Mrs. Christiane Rabiega.
In 1986, keen to develop its expertise, the Swedish company Vin&Sprit (wine and spirits), which holds the monopoly on wine imports in Sweden, decided to manage its own wine estate and purchased the property.
With the acquisition of Domaine Rabiega, she hopes to perfect her knowledge of the current winemaking process and develop the skills of her employees who will come to train at the estate.
In the early days, the Vin & Sprit experiment was not really conclusive, but the year 1988 marked the beginning of a renaissance with the arrival of winemaker Lars Torstenson.
It was in 1993, during a competition, that the estate received general recognition with the Prestige cuvée (Clos Dière cuvée I) from the 1990 vintage. Domaine Rabiega then succeeded in establishing itself as one of the leading wine estates in Provence, with a reputation for excellence in its Côte de Provence appellation.
