Souviou Estate

In the heart of the prestigious and confidential Bandol appellation, Domaine Souviou has cultivated authenticity and the art of living among vines and olive trees for several centuries.

Domaine Souviou invites you to discover its wines (AOP Bandol & AOP Côtes de Provence). The estate, boasting 7,000 olive trees, 200 of which are a thousand years old, also produces an extra virgin olive oil (green fruity) (AOP Provence olive oil).

The estate is now owned by Roger Jaar, a polytechnician and international businessman, who loves Provence and is committed to restoring this estate with full respect for history and nature.

- The 15th century bastide to which is attached a chapel with "angel wings" and which belonged to the French actress Danielle Darrieux.
- The vernacular heritage which bears witness to life on the estate in past centuries: "apié" bee walls where hives were placed (rare heritage in Provence), a well, old juniper oven, a dry stone hut known as a "borie" in the south.
- The magnificent olive grove, unique in Provence with its thousand-year-old olive trees, which includes more than 7000 trees.
- The modern and bright tasting room, where you can discover Bandol and Côtes de Provence wines as well as the three varieties of olive oil: VIRGILIA, SELVATICA and PLINIA, which have been awarded numerous medals.

THE SITE
The estate spans 95 hectares of vineyards, olive groves, and forest overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. It is a place steeped in history for over 1000 years and a veritable conservatory of 7000 olive trees that stand majestically on terraced slopes.
