About
Just minutes from the famous Thoronet Abbey, the Winegrowers' Guild celebrates a daily cult of Bacchus. A devotion that its fifty or so members now share with thousands of faithful, converted to its rich and flavorful wines.
You can't miss it: the Guild of Winegrowers' cooperative is housed in a large building on the edge of the village, on the main road leading to Thoronet Abbey. Its walls, covered in Bacchic-inspired frescoes, are hard to miss. A perfect introduction before a visit to the cellar, a charming, recently renovated shop. A breath of fresh air that, between you and me, has extended far beyond the shop itself…
A young winery with a long history, this winery, created in 2001, is in fact the result of the union of two of the oldest Provençal cooperatives: La Cannetoise, founded in 1914, and La Thoronéenne, born four years later.
The Winegrowers' Guild now encompasses nearly 250 hectares of vineyards, planted on the clay-limestone slopes of Le Thoronet or on the sandstone hillsides of Le Cannet des Maures. This vineyard is managed by around fifty members. Some cultivate around forty hectares, others just a few acres. But all are committed to tending their vines, aware that the quality of their wines depends on it.
