The Roque Mill

The red and rosé wines from this estate are made from a blend of Mourvèdre, Grenache, Cinsault and Carignan grape varieties.

Planted on over 501 hectares of the Moulin de la Roque vineyards, Mourvèdre is the characteristic grape variety of Bandol. This very demanding grape harmonizes perfectly with the Bandol terroir. It brings power and aging potential to our wines, as well as a wide aromatic range: black fruits, spices, prune, licorice, leather, garrigue, and undergrowth.

Grenache thrives in arid climates, and its upright growth habit allows it to withstand the mistral wind. It performs best on hillside plots, even dry and stony ones. Wines made from Grenache are generous and express aromas of red and exotic fruits, spices, and animal notes.

A grape variety originating in Provence, Cinsault requires warmth and is highly drought-resistant. When expertly crafted, it lends our wines great elegance, fruitiness, and roundness. It allows us to create a harmonious balance between the high alcohol content of Grenache and the tannic structure of Mourvèdre.

Planted on the hillsides of Bandol, the old Carignan vines produce coloured, structured and powerful red wines which, after blending with Mourvèdre wines, only ask to age.

Our white wines are made from the Clairette grape, a typical southern variety, and Ugni Blanc. While Clairette brings roundness and great aromatic finesse (white flowers, honey, white-fleshed or exotic fruits), Ugni Blanc gives our wines vibrancy and balance.
