Founded in 1913, Les Caves du Commandeur are located in Montfort-sur-Argens in the Var department, on one of the finest terroirs of Green Provence, between the Mediterranean coast and the Verdon Gorges. The vineyard is spread across nine communes (Montfort, Correns, Cotignac, Carces, Salernes, Le Val, Le Thoronet, Villecroze and Entrecasteaux) and three appellations.
- Protected Designation of Origin Côtes de Provence (238 hectares).
- Protected Designation of Origin Coteaux Varois en Provence (85.5 hectares).
- Protected Geographical Indication Var (152.5 hectares).
The main grape varieties are: Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache for red wines. Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault for rosé wines. Rolle for white wines.
All the wines come from environmentally friendly viticulture, with the same objectives pursued year after year:
- Select the best plots of land
- To produce healthy, high-quality grapes
- Preserve the natural environment
- To maintain the long-term balance of the soil
Since the 2019 harvest, all wines offered to our customers are certified High Environmental Value (HVE).
Les Caves du Commandeur positions itself as a key player in the region by welcoming wine lovers to three tasting cellars located in Montfort sur Argens (18 rue du Moulin), Salernes (11 boulevard de la Libération) and Brignoles (Route du Val).
We will be happy to welcome you from Monday to Saturday (Sunday mornings in July and August). Cellar tours are available in Montfort (by appointment).
