Mr. Jourdain dreams big: he wants to become a "gentleman". When a simple bourgeois struggles to gain access to high society and imitate the nobility, pretenses dance, intrigues are born, tutors parade and misunderstandings follow one after another... Turks are invited, marriages are arranged, vowels and consonants are argued over in a waltz of powdered wigs and flamboyant costumes.
