Verdon cycling tour

About

The Tour du Verdon by bike, designed for lovers of touring and adventure, takes you to discover this unique territory, its breathtaking panoramas and its emblematic villages, passing through lesser-known and more secluded areas.

What better way to discover the Verdon than by bike? The Tour du Verdon by bike invites you on a journey to discover the Verdon and its rich heritage. Take your time and escape onto the picturesque backroads to experience the authenticity of this multifaceted region.

Between Gréoux-les-Bains and Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon, discover breathtaking views of Lake Esparron and its steep shores, find refuge in one of the small coves scattered here and there and meander along the lower gorges.

On the Valensole plateau, be intoxicated by the fragrant air of the blue and gold fields and contemplate the Sainte-Croix lake and the alpine ranges in the distance.

The route also takes you above the unmissable Verdon Gorges via the sublime corniche (left bank), which spectacularly overlooks the emerald-colored Verdon river.

On the other side of the gorges, the Artuby River unfolds before you. Drive from village to village through this hilly, man-made landscape, between forests and pastoral meadows.

The route ventures south of the Verdon, into the Haut-Var region. Villages perched atop the hills, linked by picturesque country roads, immerse you in the Provençal hinterland. A true invitation to discover all the flavors of this region, a land of olive oil and truffles.

Extend your stay and take advantage of the connection to Saint-André-les-Alpes, a stop on the Train des Pignes. This is an opportunity to travel alongside the lakes of Castillon and Chaudanne and stop in Castellane, in the heart of the Middle Verdon.

The Verdon is waiting for you, prepare your saddlebags and get in the saddle for an unforgettable experience!

Recommended period: Explore the route outside the summer season, from March to June and from September to mid-November. During the summer, road traffic is very heavy, making some sections dangerous. Adjust your schedule (before 9 a.m. or after 6 p.m.) to set off in the cooler morning air.
