Guided tour - Toulon Olé Olé!

""Toulon Olé Olé!" is a stunning guided tour of Toulon, exploring its scandalous past as a provider of diverse and varied pleasures, designed to give sailors from all over the world the satisfaction of a successful port call!

This is how we will evoke the grandeur and misery of the mythical Chicago district where a hundred "American bars" allowed sailors on shore leave to restore a blood alcohol level incompatible with standing.

Chicago should not be confused with the Red Light District that disappeared in the 1950s. We will go to Place du Pavé d'Amour, aptly named, to discuss the "houses" where assembly-line work was already practiced…

In front of the gate of the Royal Jesuit Seminary, affixed to the rope factory, we will revisit the case of Father Girard and the young Marie-Catherine Cadière in the 18th century. A sex scandal triggered by this Jesuit confessor accused of having bewitched (and more) a young woman from Toulon.

And then we will meet Berthe from Toulon, half Régine, half Madame Claude, matchmaker and hostess of Toulon evenings in the interwar period.

In the same spirit, we will mention "the Little Allies" (from the title of a novel by the writer Claude Farrère) these young women who do not necessarily wait for the bonds of marriage to enjoy its pleasures.
