Minuty Chapel

The Minuty estate chapel is a chapel built on the estate in the 19th century, but predating the château. This small building, nestled in the heart of the vineyards, possesses a unique romantic charm.

The Minuty estate chapel was built in 1865, at the request of Zélia Fouque, widow of Claude Germondy, probably following the death of her son and then her husband in the preceding years.
Located in an enclosure of 300 m2, it measures 70 m2.

«"The top of the facade is adorned with a small, polygonal structure housing the bell, surmounted by a conical roof. It is flanked by two pinnacles. The apse features a frieze of arches along its upper edge. The chapel has a single nave. [...] In the chancel, the marble altar is furnished with six candlesticks, a cross, and an altarpiece. All the furnishings are in perfect condition. The ceiling is decorated with circular medallions representing the symbols of the four Evangelists. [...] This is a coherent ensemble, the furnishings of which date entirely from the Second Empire.""

Consecrated in 1938, the chapel was used regularly until the mid-20th century, particularly due to the faith of the Spanish workers. Since then, it has been used for certain family events and at the start of the grape harvest.

The Cuvée de l'Oratoire was created in his honor.
