Chapel of Saint John the Baptist

Chapel located in the middle of the vineyards, probably built during the 13th century.

It has often been said that this chapel was built at the request of Jean de Gantès (1328-1389), following the Battle of Trémourèdes which raged near the building. This is inaccurate, because in 1268, following a meeting with Bishop Gaultier Gauffridi (1262-1276), the sacristan was granted Cuers along with the clerical chapel of Saint-Jean; this endowment therefore confirms the existence of the building in the second half of the 13th century. The roof was completely redone in 1984. A votive offering is dated 1772.
