Art and wine exhibition at Château Mauvanne

About

Château Mauvanne awaits you for the Art&Vin exhibition featuring ballpoint pen works by Jean-Marc Tourreilles.

The lords of Mauvans gave their name to the estate in the 17th century. The château, built in 1844, is nestled in a park of over one hectare bordering the road, giving it a strategic position between the sea and the mountains, facing the Îles d'Or d'Hyères. The estate has been owned by independent winemakers, the Rahal family, since 1999. The estate is currently hosting its first exhibition, featuring pen drawings and paintings by Jean-Marc Tourreilles, in which faces emerge (fragile, sometimes hesitant presences).
Jean-Marc Tourreilles' art reveals how an image is born from time. Starting with a scribble, he accumulates intertwined lines until forms emerge that seem to arise spontaneously. A slow, patient metamorphosis, where matter transforms before our very eyes.
Transparencies, superimpositions, variations of tools: each work is a passage, a slippage, an apparition.
