Bormettes Hospital
About
Its construction may even date back to the establishment by the Templars of a large agricultural operation in this place, allowing the supply of the crusaders.
It fell to the Hospitaller Commandery of Beaulieu in 1338.
Returning from the crusade in 1254, three knights are said to have found rest and healing there.
The three small crosses in the City's coat of arms symbolize the insignia of the crusaders, which each would have offered in thanks to the hospitallers.
A watercolor painted in 1939, when some remains of this hospital still existed, gives an idea of its architecture, if indeed it is realistic...
