Dependent on the Charterhouse of La Verne, it was built between 1588 and 1642 on the oldest agricultural estate in the territory that the monks would develop.
Covering several hundred hectares, it was the largest until the Revolution. It then encompassed the Château Le Bastidon, around which the cultivation of olive trees predominated, while that of vines already took precedence at Les Bormettes.
The bell tower and the bas-relief of the Immaculate Heart of Christ adorn the main entrance and still bear witness to this monastic past. Following its loss during the Second World War, the bell was replaced in 2012, restoring the building to its original appearance. The castle also houses a former stone-vaulted oil mill, built in 1704 and converted into a wine cellar in 2015.
