In 2004, the idea was born for a unique project linking art, architecture and wine on the grounds of Château La Coste.
Participating artists and architects are invited to visit the estate and discover the beauty of its landscapes. They are then given free rein in choosing the location that will house their creation.
The Art Centre, a V-shaped building, also houses a bookstore and a restaurant where you can eat by the pool reflecting the landscapes of Château La Coste.
Since June 2011, Château La Coste invites you to discover, at the pace of a stroll through woods, hills, vineyards and olive groves, the works and installations of artists and architects such as:
Tadao Ando, Louise Bourgeois, Alexander Calder, Frank O. Gehry, Liam Giillick, Andy Goldsworthy, Guggi, Tatsuo Miyajima, Jean Nouvel, Jean Michel Othoniel, Jean Prouvé, Sean Scully, Richard Serra, Tom Shannon, Michael Stipe, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Tunga, Franz West.
Château La Coste now appears as a place where vineyards, art, and architecture are freely expressed. The estate continues to develop with a number of upcoming projects, including those by Oscar Niemeyer, Frank Gehry and Tony Berlant, Sou Fujimoto, and Renzo Piano.
Walking shoes are recommended, the Art and Architecture walk lasts approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.
